Full article

The article presents the results of the assessment of the existence and nature of the relationship between the indicators of differentiation of incomes of the population (the coefficient of funds and the Gini index) and socio-demographic factors: the sex-age structure, the share of urban and rural population in the total population, the migration dynamics of the region, the level of labor qualification. The urgency of the work is conditioned by the fact that at present the level of differentiation of incomes of the population in Russia is one of the highest among the developed countries of Europe and America and is close to the values in the countries: El Salvador, Congo, Gabon, which causes serious concern, as the further growth of the indicator may affect the reduction of the socio-economic stability of our state. The results of the study are the establishment of the presence and nature of the links between the factors studied and the degree of inequality in the regions, as well as their possible explanation, by analyzing the degree of industry diversification, the level of wages, employed and the unemployed population of the regions.

Keywords: income differentiation, inequality, socio-demographic factors.
