The article is devoted to spiritual and moral aspects of development of northern regions of Russia. The relevance of the study is determined by an active discussion about the possibilities of transforming socio-economic reality from a capi-talist way to unity, responsibility, and service. The basis of the author's reasoning is the Orthodox faith in Jesus Christ and conviction in its transformative influence on both person and social life. The aim of the development strategy of the region on the example of the Komi Republic, demographic and environmental problems, the situation with the pollution of lan-guage with obscene words, the management of financial resources of enterprises, policies in the areas of competition and increasing financial literacy of the population, approaches to the problem of poverty, the moral and psychological side of inventive activity in the northern territories are considered. For the first time, a quantitative assessment of the influence of social deviations (sins) on the economic welfare of the people was made. Research methods: analysis of legislation, scien-tific and patronymic literature, review of statistical and sociological data, observation, comparison, classification, correla-tion analysis. The basis of the reasoning is the gospel thesis that spiritual should not be considered as a means to solve material difficulties, but the primary search for the Kingdom of God is the aim of human life and at the same time leads to the correct satisfaction of pressing needs. The peculiarity of the presentation of the material is the illustration of creed truths by scientific data. The article acts as a generalization of author's publications for a number of years. It can be useful to managers, scientists and teachers, students and all caring people. Further research can clarify and deepen the conclu-sions regarding the multiplication of people's love for God, for each other and for the world around us.
