Axiological aspect in the development of corporate culture

Objectives of the study - to substantiate the possibility of considering corporate culture as an collective phenomenon that determines value-based collective actions and allows one to give a moral assessment not to individual employees, but to the organization as such.
Methodology: theoretical and philosophical analysis based on the concept of shared values as joint commitments.
Most contemporary theories and approaches recognize the importance of values in the formation of corporate culture and its role in the organizational life. However, they attribute the moral content of corporate culture exclusively to the individual. The conventional view assumes that shared values, which constitute the core of corporate culture, are simply the sum of individual imperatives shared by group members, or declared as such. Within this interpretation, no employee can bear moral responsibility for the actions of another employee. The concept of shared commitments, by contrast, assumes that shared values arise when members of an organization, in the course of joint activities, make implicit commitments to act in accordance with certain values, regardless of what moral principles they personally profess. Such commitments form a closely related and coherent axiological system, in which each employee is morally responsible for everyone else due to participating in practices that encourage and support a particular mode of action.
The study findings are applicable in the development of the theory of corporate culture and public assessment of companies' activities.
This research is limited to theoretical analysis; further work is necessary to apply the proposed concept to the analysis and assessment of the activities of specific companies and their corporate social responsibility.
Commitments arising in the course of joint activities of organization’s members form the value aspect of corporate culture and allow assessing the degree of moral responsibility of all employees and the company as such.
