The study aimed to evaluation the impact of state-financing backing of small and medium businesses in the Republic of Komi on economic performance of economic agents and characteristics, which assess the level of economic security of the region. Analysis of the structure and dynamics of financing entrepreneurship development programs was held. The strength of the correlation between specific financial and economic tools and results of small and medium-sized business was evaluated. It is established that escalation of state-financing backing of entrepreneurship on the North is a factor of economic development of territories, which is measured by unemployment rate and income dispersion coefficient. The results can be taken into account in justification of recommendations for improving the Republic of Komi economic policy for small and medium-sized businesses.
