The changes in the socio-economic and environmental nature-taking place all over the world require new approaches to solving the accumulated problems. One of the approaches is the use of a circular economy in the sectors of the economy, the in-troduction of a closed cycle in production. The proposed approach will result in cost savings, waste prevention or significant re-duction, job creation and new economic opportunities. The aim of the work is to study the direction of development of the circu-lar economy in the agricultural sector. The solution of the tasks posed in the study carried out based on the use of a descriptive method, including methods of interpretation, comparison, generalization, as well as a theoretical analysis of scientific literature of foreign and domestic authors. In this context, the most rational use of natural resources in agriculture identified using circular agroeconomics. Circular economy is a concept for the development of a green economy and sustainable development. The princi-ples of running a circular economy call into question the organization of solutions to modern problems of resource use and re-source efficiency. The transition to such an economic model will contribute to the achievement of the six sustainable development goals. The article defines the essence of the circular economy in agriculture and the principles of its conduct in the agricultural sector. Shown is the successful experience of introducing a closed production cycle in the agricultural sector of foreign countries for the implementation of new sustainable ways of food production within the circular economy. It revealed that enterprises that plan to operate in the long term forced to admit that the goods produced today could become the resources of “tomorrow”. It has been establish that the circular economy is recognize as a tool for reducing waste and food losses. Thus, the use of a circular economy in agriculture will lead to a reduction in food losses and waste, and will ensure food security and economic growth.
